Emerald Tea Garden

Chinese food is admittedly one of my guilty pleasures . I just love how Chinese cuisines always tastes interesting; salty and sweet at the same time, and with a lot of umami goodness. One of the better chinese joints in Davao City is Emerald, and their food is wonderful

We started off our recent meal at Emerald with this cold cuts platter that featured century eggs, jelly fish, Asado. white chiken (i think) and some preparation of pork intestines (i think)

the jelly fish was my fave. im in love with jelly fish.haha

We also ordered some very very fresh prawns. i dont eat prawns (damn allergy) but everybody said it tasted wonderful. It came with a dipping sauce that everybody was raving about
We also had some soup. Whenever we eat at emerald we order the eight treasures soup. It has tofu, squid, fish, shrimp, carrots, egg, mushrooms, and i don't know what else, but it tastes really good and comforting..exactly how a bowl of soup should be.

We also had pata tim, and there were crunchy little pieces of sea cucumber (i think).. love sea cucumber. the pata tim was usper tender and was really flavorful...

My ultimate fave, lemon chicken..super crunchy and super lemony. yum-o!
Plus they serve a really good oyster cake. You can really see the oysters inside the omelet, unlike in some other chinese restos
OOOOH. and whenever you decide to visit emerald, make sure to order some minced prok with lettuce wraps. it is lovely. it is crunchy, perfectly seasoned, fresh tasting, and the hoisin sauce is glorious.
